According to syndicated host Tom Joyner, the mild-mannered Grammy winner recently threatened to "whup my a-" after Joyner joked about rumored tension between Foster and Usher's mom, Jonetta Patton.
Joyner said Usher called him off-air to complain about claims that Foster urged him to "fire" Jonetta as his manager. (Word is Usher was particularly unamused when Daily News contributor Jawn Murray quipped to Joyner during the broadcast: "I wonder if he's going to put a pink slip in her Mother's Day card?")
Joyner and sidekick J. Anthony Brown made much of Usher's fury last week aboard the Fantastic Voyage Cruise, where LL Cool J, the O'Jays and others performed during a Caribbean benefit for historically black colleges.
"Who's afraid of Usher?" asked Joyner, prompting laughter from ship guests. Joyner and Brown even invited anyone in the audience who knew Usher "to tell him we're not afraid of him." Usher is also said to have called WBLS host WendyWilliams and Hot-97's Angie Martinez to "ask them to lay off Tameka," a source tells us.
The personal call to Williams comes as a surprise to those who remember Usher hurling curses over his shoulder as he dashed away from the deejay on the red carpet of the Soul Train Awards a few years ago. (This was after Williams had invited Foster onto her show - only to kick her out of the studio when Foster failed to deliver the expected dish on why she was fired as Usher's stylist.)
"It's so out of character for Usher to take such a handson approach to the media," said Murray. "He must really love this girl."
Usher rep Chris Chambers said, "I don't know of my client calling or threatening anyone. Radio personalities are going to talk about current news. We can't put a muzzle on anybody."
Usher may have good reason to be protective of his mate. The rumor's flying again that she's pregnant. Though his reps have denied that the couple is expecting, spies at the recent Bahamian opening of the Cove at Atlantis noticed that Foster seemed to cover her tummy every time a photographer loomed.

"We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave," Brian Frons, president of ABC Daytime, said in a statement posted on TMZ.com. "Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to The View and wish her well." The show's co-host and executive producer, Barbara Walters, said in the statement: "I brought Rosie to the show. Rosie contributed to one of our most exciting and successful years at The View. I am most appreciative. Our close and affectionate relationship will not change." Said O'Donnell: "I'm extremely grateful. It's been an amazing year and I love all three women." The move follows several days of speculation that O'Donnell, who was scheduled to leave the show when her contract expired in June, would not come back to The View following Wednesday's on-air blow-up with Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Although View reps maintained that O'Donnell was expected back on set on Tuesday, she had hinted on her blog that she might not return at all. When one reader asked on Thursday, "Rosie! Will you be back on The View? When?" she responded: "No idea." And when another fan wrote, "The fight today was painful for anyone who cares about you. Please walk away. It's not worth it," O'Donnell replied: "Well u know when its time 2 go."

It is a shame that in this day and age there is someone in the United States that is keeping slavery alive. This couple where keeping two Indonesian women hostage in there homes since 2002 as slaves. The couple is being held on bond for 3.5 million dollars. They have pleaded not guilty (of course). The two women allege the couple have beat them and through scalding hot water on them and forced them to repeatedly climb stairs for punishment. The were given little food and forced to sleep on mats on the kitchen floor one women was made to eat 25 hot chili peppers at one time for her punishment. The maximum sentence would not be enough for this couple wait until you get to prison you will know what slavery is and what you put these poor women through.

It's a hard knock life for the folks who work at the Jiggaman's New York hotspot, if a new lawsuit is to be believed.According to court papers obtained by TMZ, Celeste Williams, a former "server" at the swank 40/40 Club, accuses the music mogul and the company that owns the joint, Twenty Ones, Inc., of not even paying her minimum wage. She also alleges that the club held back tips from servers and that she got stiffed for overtime she worked. What's more, Williams' lawyers say in the complaint that there are "more than 100" other 40/40 employees who will join the lawsuit. Williams is seeking unspecified damages.40/40 rep Ron Berkowitz tells TMZ that the named plaintiff -- Williams -- worked for the club for a grand total of four days, and that the club is not aware of any other of the "more than 100" workers who may have signed up for the suit. When we spoke to him, Berkowitz said the club hadn't yet been served with papers, but insisted that all employees keep 100% of their tips, and that any allegation of wait staff being unpaid is false.

In a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Rochester, a Henrietta couple, Charles B. Curry Jr. and Shameika Drain Curry of 23 Still Pond Way were charged with identity theft.
Allegedly, the couple stole the identity of several people including actress Nia Long and recording star Ashanti Douglas to purchase cars, obtain credit cards and write bogus checks illegally.
To secure a $36,000 loan and purchase a 2003 Honda Infinity from an Irondequoit auto dealer last year, Shameika Curry allegedly impersonated Ashanti Douglas, a Grammy Award-winning singer.
Shameika was also alleged to have impersonated actress Nia Long to write and cash a check for $8,300 made out to a cleaning service Shameika Curry herself runs.
Meanwhile, her husband, Charles Curry, was said to have impersonated his father to secure a $31,000 loan that allowed him to purchase a 2000 Mercedes Benz from a Webster auto dealer. The couple also is charged with defrauding a bank of $45,000 to open a credit line by assuming the identity of an elderly Rochester woman.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard A. Resnick, if the couple are convicted, they will face a $1 million fine and a maximum penalty of up to 30 years in prison.

Sean (Diddy) Combs' top choreographer - who took a star turn on the rap mogul's MTV reality show "Making the Band" - has accused him of threatening her with a chair during a heated argument that ended their partnership.

Laurie Ann Gibson filed a complaint with the NYPD claiming Diddy picked up a chair and menaced her with it during an argument over the lackluster performance of the TV show's latest group of contestants.

Sources close to Diddy denied he grabbed the chair, and they insisted the argument was part of the theatrics of the TV show and that Gibson overreacted.
Diddy's lawyer simply rejected the allegations.

"This is just another example of a false accusation by someone trying to take advantage of Sean's success and celebrity status," said attorney Benjamin Brafman.

While Gibson's lawyer said cops were still probing the incident, an NYPD spokesman said Manhattan detectives investigated the allegation, found no criminality and closed the case.

In the complaint filed with Manhattan cops May 11, Gibson said she got into a heated argument with Diddy and celebrity judge Michael Bivins during the April 25 filming of the MTV show at a branch of New York Sports Clubs in Greenwich Village.

Gibson said the two men started yelling and cursing at her when she told them the dancers had been given only a day to practice in order to see what they would do in a crunch.

Bivins then allegedly grabbed her while Diddy picked up a chair and threatened her. She said she broke free, tried to run and Bivins allegedly grabbed her once again. Then she left, the complaint stated.

Sources said Diddy fired her during the angry exchange - and at one point yelled for the MTV cameras to be shut off.
"She is the inspiration for the contestants, and she has worked with Sean Combs for more than 10 years. That's why this was so unexpected," Gibson's lawyer Peter Toumbekis said.

Toumbekis said the dancer's contract is with MTV and Combs does not have the power to fire her. Toumbekis also said the NYPD was still tying to get copies of the footage that MTV shot during the dispute.

"Making the Band" follows Diddy as he attempts to launch new music groups. The upcoming season focuses on the creation of an all-male band. Filming of the finale has been delayed because of the dispute, Toumbekis said.
"Puffy and I, we have such an amazing relationship," Gibson gushed in a February interview about the show with the Detroit Free Press. "He said, 'Laurie Ann, you need to do this show, people need to see what you do and who you are.' He said, 'Trust me, just do it.'

May 19, 2007 -- Grammy Award-winning rapper Method Man lived up to his stage name - Staten Island slang for marijuana - when he was busted by a toll-booth cop for smoking a blunt, police said yesterday.
Method Man, a k a Clifford Smith, 'fessed up to carrying about 28 grams of dope in his 2005 green Lincoln immediately after being stopped by a bridge-and-tunnel cop as he drove into Manhattan at about 10 p.m. Thursday.
He was about to pay the toll for the Battery Tunnel in Brooklyn when Officer Donald Johnston, spotting his car's expired inspection sticker, pulled him over, according to the criminal complaint.
When the rapper rolled down his window, the cop was hit with a waft of marijuana smoke and noticed two pot-filled cigars and a plastic bag containing even more grass in the car.
When Method Man said he had yet more pot under the driver's seat, he was taken into custody without a fuss, said a police source, who added, "I guess he was feeling mellow."
Method Man was released on his own recognizance yesterday after having been arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
